First Nations Cultural Painting Workshop

In the First Nation Cultural Painting Workshops we will talk about different styles and mediums and how our stories are told through our paintings using symbols.

Each participant will be able to paint a souvenir boomerang or small canvas painting to take away from the Workshop.

Artist Profile

Linda Oliver

Linda Oliver is an Indigenous Artist from Cloncurry. She is proud of her mixed heritage of Waanyi, Kuk-Yalinji, Woopaburra and Kalkodoon.

She was born in Cloncurry and grew up in Townsville and has been activly involved in working with many charities including Ronald McDonald House and the Endevour Foundtion in Townsville.

Linda is also a cultural practitioner with Big Eye Theatre Company and teaches traditional dance and art in the Townsville region. Lindas cultural grounding comes from her mother Roslyn Sailor (nee Oliver) and her grandparents Stephen and Irene Oliver who have now passed.
